Continuing on with the discussion on where the 2012 SWB Yankees will play…
Many feel, have heard, are leaning towards the decision that they will be tenants of Coca Cola Park in 2012.
One thing that came to mind this afternoon was, “Why not Yankee Stadium?”
Why not?
New York City is the heart of the Yankee fan base. Combine the hard economic times and the incredibly high prices to attend NY Yankee games I’m sure the locals would relish the opportunity to see baseball in Yankee stadium at minor league prices. (Maybe not minor league prices, but a significant discount)
Any other thoughts on this?

great idea, although my only thought would be the cost to operate Yankee stadium, even with minimal staff would not be worth what they would make off of a minor league baseball game’s attendance.
It is a good idea–although they would have to work around the NYY schedule even more than working around the IronPigs in Allentown. ie they may not be able to play a day game the same day as a night NYY game. The PawSox did play a couple in Fenway this year. How did they draw?
On Aug 20 two games were played at Fenway.
The first game was the Red Sox AA affiliate Portland Sea Dogs vs. the Binghamton Mets.
The second game of the DH was the AAA Pawtucket Red Sox vs the Syracuse Chiefs.
Attendance was listed at 14,515 for each game.
By the way, when do the IronPigs get the chance to play in Beantown?
The list appears to be narrowing…
